Puzzles Pieces PlaySchool
Offers Spring Fling Week

March 29, 2004--Morristown NJ: Focus America’s latest project, Puzzle Pieces PlaySchool (located at the Xavier Center on the Sisters of Charity of St. Elizabeth campus), announces a special Spring Fling Week for toddlers and preschoolers from 9:00 to 1:00 during the week of April 12th to 17th.

Children will engage in activities that celebrate spring including experiments with nature, stories, arts and crafts, outdoor exploration, and games. Snacks are included (but children must bring bagged lunches).

Puzzle Pieces’ childcare facility, sponsored by Focus America, is run by staff and volunteers who engage the children in interactive activities. Most of the volunteers are young college students who are studying education, business, communication, and psychology. The goal of Puzzle Pieces is to provide children with an environment of external stimulation and socialization in a clean, nurturing environment. In addition, children participate in structured themed activities and age-appropriate learning.

ABOUT PUZZLE PIECES PLAYSCHOOL: Puzzles Pieces is a program managed by Focus America. Providing structured activities as well as childcare for toddlers and preschoolers, the program helps provide a nurturing and academic environment for children. All proceeds are used to fund Focus America’s projects that center on helping children in impoverished communities throughout the US.

ABOUT FOCUS AMERICA: Founded in October 2002, Focus America is a 501c3 non-profit volunteer-run corporation that provides various levels of community support through the talents, skills, and dedication of an extensive network of volunteers, mostly college students from Northern New Jersey as well as a few out-of-state universities. The volunteers work specifically with destitute and underserved communities, focusing on addressing basic needs (shelter, food, and clothing) then introducing mentor programs to help improve the self-esteem of the hardest hit members of these communities: the children. Their ultimate goal is to help eliminate poverty in these underdeveloped communities while developing the business skills of the college-aged volunteers who create, implement, and manage the projects.
